Tis the Season

This will be a really quick post as The Hills season finale is about to start, but I wanted to post a pic of our house after we got the lights put up outside. I am so proud of it. I was attempting to go Griswald, but it actually turned out looking decent. I'll try harder next year. We don't have any figurines in the yard and I am convinced that is how to achieve Griswald success.

I'll tack on to randomness

Several fellow bloggers have been posting on random things here of late and I am going to jump on that train too. Not much new and exciting has been going on here, so I'll just mention some things I think are worth pointing out. First, Scott and I went to the Symphony last night. When you are through laughing at the thought of Scott and I behaving so sophisticatedly (if that's a word), I will continue with my story. Our wonderful neighbors were going out of town for the weekend and purchased the tickets before they knew they would be gone. So, out of sheer kindness, they asked if Scott and I would like the tickets. Seeing as how we have never been and are always up for new things, we said sure. We went, and enjoyed it. Only at intermission did I realize what the Symphony is REALLY about, It's not actually about the music and wonderful artistic abilities of the members of the orchestra, okay well maybe it is a little bit, but mostly it is a social event of all socialites. It's a hob nob event.
My next point of highlighted interest is that Harley gets to have a play date tomorrow and Tuesday. We are having the inside of our house painted and, well, those of you who know her know it is not really an option to leave her here. So, once again, lucky for us, we have another super nice friend that offered to let her come play with her dog, Chewy. Actually, it's Scott's immediate boss here in the Coast office. We thought this would be prime opportunity for the dogs to get to know one another so that if we ever need dog sitters we can just call on each other rather than having to board them. Works out great....I hope! Keep your fingers crossed that Harley acts appropriate. After all, it is Scott's boss...AAAHHH. A little nervous about this. Can a dog ruin your career? Let's hope not.
Finally, I have been hearing much buzz about Shutterfly and actually had the opportunity the other night to play around with it. I did a couple of collages with the nephews and niece for your viewing pleasure.
Hope everyone has a great week. Who am I kidding, I hope you have a great 3 or 4 weeks since that is probably how long it will take me to blog again.

Coast Rats

I really am struggling to get better at this blogging thing. I leave my fan base hanging for weeks at a time. What's that all about? I would like to claim that I have been really busy....oh, wait, I have. Had a test and two assignments due over the last week or two, work is still work, we celebrated Patrick's first birthday, Scott went out of town, we celebrated Harley's second birthday, work is still work, and I think that brings everything up to speed. I am posting some pictures of Patrick's birthday and a couple of pictures of super soccer star Marcus since my brother and sister in law are going to continue to be worse slackers than I am in the blog world and won't post things themselves. They went so far as to register to create a blog....and that's it. They can't even remember what they named it or what the password is. They act like they have things going on too. As if. No fear Auntie Shine will pick up the slack. I mean, after all, I guess being the best aunt in the world does require me to do a little work.

So I knew I wouldn't be good at this...

Ok, ok. Believe it or not, I have had a request on updating the page. As you should all (ha. I use ALL loosely, as I know I only have at maximum 2 fans!) know, I am not good at keeping up with career bloggers. It's not for a lack of having topics to blog about...it's actually more like a lack of decisiveness. I have so many things to blog about, but so little time to actually blog. So, instead of trying to decipher and pick a good story I just give up and decide to give my fans nothing. I know, I know...what kind of author/entertainer does such a thing? This kind! On a positive note, I will try to bring you up to speed as to what has been going on lately. Work has been absolutely crazy lately. School is keeping me my fair share of busy. I had my first assignment in one class due this weekend and I have my first test in the other class on Thursday. In the menatime, Scott and I have continued trying to get this house looking like WE live in it. The dining room is completed and Scott finished his "Maroon Room" today! All he wanted when we were house hunting was a house that he could have his office and paint it maroon. Being the State fans we are, I was okay with the idea; however, it made my house search that much harder. So many homes these days are into the "open plan." As I do love my bulldogs, something just wasn't hitting me right when I kept thinking about maroon being so visible in my house. Lucky us! We found a wonderful house that has Scott's office right off of the den....bonus factor: it has a solid door that can be closed and the maroon isn't visible at all!!! Anywho. I'm attaching a few pictures. Sorry, I still don't know how to make those cool little squares wih multiple pictures like my fellow blog friens, so you're getting separate pictures. Just learn to like scrolling! That's it for now...oh wait....one more big news...our nephew Patrick turns ONE on Thursday. Those of you that know what a tough road this little man had early on, you know how much of a blessing it is for us to be celebrating his first birthday and I can only hope the good Lord gives us many, many, many more with him!!! I'll definitley have some pics to post next weekend after we attend his party. Can't wait!!

Home Improvement

Scott and I have finally finished painting our bedroom and bathroom. Now the decorating can begin. I must admit, the bedroom was not all that difficult; however, the bathroom was a bear! Fortunately, I had started on the bathroom while Scott was out of town a few nights ago and spent more time getting Harley's ball out of the paint than I did actually putting paint on the walls. So....I played that to my huge advantage. While he was painting away, I kept using the excuse that someone had to keep an eye on the dog and make sure she didn't make a mess! Unfortunately, he quickly caught on to my ways. Harley had pretty much worn herself out for a little while so I climbed up on the ladder and painted around the ceiling. Note to self: Next house I have will NOT have a popcorn ceiling. That stuff falls off if you breathe wrong. Oh, and in my next life when I can afford a professional painter I will definitely spend the money. For now though, I think we did a pretty decent job. Here are some pics of the finished product. The colors are a bit wild I know, but they really do look good in person. I am not sure the pictures are a good vision. Oh, and I posted the first picture sideways and don't know how to fix it....ignore my unblogginess.

Golden Eagles

So, all of my two blog friends know I am back in school working on my masters at USM the gulfcoast campus. Though I am sure I will step on some toes of future readers, I really don't understand how people continue to put money into this institution. It is the most bassackwards place I have ever seen and I do not know how they survive. It makes me all the more proud that my "real" education came from State! GO DAWGS!
